Projects
In the final Semester, the student
undertakes project work on a topic of his choice related to
his/her area of specialisation, using the computer facilities
available in the study-centre or an outside agency.
"The Report should demonstrate
the capability of the student for some creative potential
and original approach to solve the practical problems in to-day's
business or Industry."
He will be guided in his project
work by a member of his faculty.
The Project should include field
studies, surveys, interpretation, planning and design of integrated
management systems, presented in comprehensive manner with
recommendation for solutions based on scientifically worked
out data. The Project should reflect the students originality
and creative thinking.
The main aim of the project work
is to test the students ability to put to practical use, the
theoritical knowledge and computer skills acquired by him
in the course of his study. The student is advised in the
first instance to submit a project proposal to the guide for
approval and commence. It is mandatory for system specialisation
students to take and analyse an existing system, identify
an operational problem and develop a suitable software to
be used in the solution of the problem.
PROJECT REPORT
The work on the project should be started only after the
approval of the proposal. The project report should be written
as per the format prescribed by the respective universities
and all the necessary certificates duly signed by the concerned
authorities should be included.
The Project work carried out by the student should be of
minimum 90 to 120 days from any particular company.
No two students can do the project under one project title
or in the same Organisation.
Students should give the Project Title with the Project Synopsis
before collecting the letter from the Institute.
The Institute looks out for the quality and genuineness of
Individual Project Reports will utmost importance. Students,
who do not meet the criteria and the quality, may have to
re-do the same in the following semester, which may be noted,
and no excuses will be entertained.
Students should submit three copies of the Project Report
to the College and one copy in the CD Format, with his name
and project title written on CD. Original copy will be returned
back to the student with the stamp of college approval after
the viva examination.
VIVA VOCE
The student is subjected finally
to a viva voce examination by faculty other than the project
guide or an outside expert. During the viva voce the student's
understanding of the basic concepts and the principles of
the theory underlying his/her project work will be tested.
The student is expected to defend
the methodologies adopted by him to carry out the project
work. He should be in a position to explain the viva board,
how the assumptions of the context stated and how she/he communicates
the rationale in resolving the issues of the problem posted.
