Foreign & NRI Students

International Students' Cell of AMC group is established for the admission, guidance and activities of International students in our College, and for the promotion of higher education, in AMC Group of Colleges. This cell will not only control the admission of students but will also provide necessary guidance for securing admission. The admission of international students to all institutes will be done by the International Students' Cell, under the guidance of the Deputy Director - Admissions AMC Group of Colleges.

The international students will include the following:

1. Foreign nationals
2. Non-Resident Indian students - who have passed the qualifying examinations from foreign countries and are admitted against the seats for international students.
3. PIO's - Persons of Indian Origin

Foreign nationals are defined as foreign passport holders.

NRI students are defined as those students who have passed their last qualifying examination outside India.

Guidelines & Rules for International students:

1. VISA:
All international students will require student visa endorsed to the respective institute of AMC Group of Colleges for joining full time courses of AMC Group of Colleges. No other endorsement is acceptable.

2. Eligibility:
The qualifications required for eligibility for admission to different can be checked in detail from this website of the respective institute. Students possessing qualifications from foreign Universities or Boards of Higher Education recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) will ONLY be eligible for admission. When required, a reference will be made to AIU to check the equivalence.

3. International students may be divided into the following categories:

  • Category A:
    Those who have passed the qualifying examination from Boards of Higher Education/Universities in India and require fresh "Student Visa" from Indian Embassy in their country endorsed to the respective institute of AMC Group of Colleges, Bangalore.
  • Category B:
    Students who have passed their qualifying examination from outside India and require fresh "Student Visa" for admission to an institute of AMC Group of Colleges, Bangalore.
  • Category C:
    International students who wish to transfer / migrate from other Indian University to AMC Group of Colleges Bangalore. He/She would then have to acquire a fresh "Student Visa" endorsed to the respective AMC Group of Colleges institute.
  • Fees:
    International students will have to pay the fees by demand draft ONLY, in US dollars or by equivalent Indian Rupees.
  • Proficiency Test in English:
    An international student who has been granted admission shall have to have the proficiency in English, to speak and understand. This is a basic requirement as the Education process is only in English.

4. Transfers & Change of Course:
An international student who has been granted admission to a particular course shall not be allowed to change the course. Transfer from one institution in India to another is also not allowed ordinarily.

5. Cancellation of Admissions:
Students should note that their admissions stand automatically cancelled if:
A. They fail to obtain long term 'Student Visa' endorsed to the respective AMC Group of Colleges institute from the Indian Embassy in their country on the basis of provisional admission.
B. They fail to produce original certificate of marks / Grade point average certificate of the last qualifying examination at the time of admission.
C. They are found to be medically unfit.
D. They fail to fulfill any condition of eligibility.
E. The qualifying examination is not the equivalent to the prescribed qualification by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

6. Cost of Living:
It is estimated that the average expenditure of an international student will be about US $ 900.00 per year. Although expenses vary from person to person, this estimate is expected to cover accommodation, food, transport, and other necessities.
